Description

This is a mid-17th century farmhouse located in Southwick, near Brokerswood. It is constructed of rendered rubble stone with a Welsh slate roof and an axial brick stack. The farmhouse follows a baffle entry plan. The facade is two storeys high and has three window bays. A C20 gabled porch of rendered stone stands to the left of centre, containing a C20 door. The ground floor has a two-light cyma-mullioned casement to the left, and two further two-light mullioned casements to the right. The first floor has three two-light mullioned casements. The right return features C20 casements. The left return has a three-light casement on the ground floor and a C20 plastic-framed casement on the first floor. The rear elevation has a three-light mullioned casement on the ground floor, a plastic-framed first floor casement, and a lean-to porch to the left. Inside, the farmhouse retains deep chamfered beams and blocked open fireplaces.
