Description

The gate piers with attached railings and gates are located at the southeast end of the avenue leading to Monkton Farleigh Manor House. They date from the early 19th century and feature chamfered rusticated ashlar piers topped with plain weathered capitals. The central double gates are made of cast iron and have spearhead designs, flanked by short sections of matching screen railing. These structures mark the end of a mile and a half-long avenue that is overlooked by the east front of Monkton Farleigh Manor House.
