Description

A pair of cottages dated 1900, located in Upper Wraxall. The cottages are built of limestone ashlar with a hipped stone slate roof and an axial stone stack. They are two storeys high with a five-window front. The ground floor has five chamfered cross windows, with a plat band separating them from the first floor. The first floor has four cross windows, incorporating side bays beneath a catslide roof that slopes over returns, finished with eaves on wrought iron brackets. A hipped attic dormer contains two 2-light casements. The right return has 20th-century casements, while a lean-to porch is attached to No. 64. The left return has an entrance to No. 63. The rear elevation features 2-light chamfered mullioned casements. The interior has not been inspected. The cottages are listed as a well-proportioned example of a late 17th-century vernacular-style estate cottage.
