Description
Lower Court Farmhouse is a detached house, likely built in the early 17th century and restored in the 20th century. It is constructed of random rubble stone and features a stone slate roof with gable end stone stacks. The building is single-storey with an attic and has three windows across the front.
The main entrance is a Tudor-arched chamfered doorway with a ribbed door, positioned to the right of the center. To the right of the doorway, there is a three-light hollow chamfered mullioned casement with a hoodmould, while to the left, there is a single chamfered light and a three-light beaded mullioned casement. The attic features three full gables, each with different styles of casements: a two-light beaded mullioned casement on the left, a two-light hollow chamfered mullioned casement in the center, and a two-light ovolo-mullioned casement on the right.
The right side of the building has a 20th-century mullioned casement in the attic, and the left side has a restored external gabled stack with a 20th-century light to the right. At the rear, there is a gabled wing with mullioned casements on the right. The interior was not accessible at the time of the survey in June 1987.
