Description
Nos 2 and 4 Oxford Street are three cottages that have been converted into two dwellings. They date from the 17th century and later, constructed from whitewashed sarsen rubble with brick dressings around the openings, topped with thatched roofs. The buildings are one storey and have an attic, featuring four bays for No. 2, which has a one-bay extension to the right, including a left through passage and stair. The entrance has a boarded door with a glazed panel, and there are paired casement windows on the ground floor with segmental heads. A right gable stack is present. No. 4 has two entrances from the former cottages, with 19th-century leaded casements that also have segmental heads. The central bay features a 12-pane 19th-century shop window with a bracketed head. There are flush dormers above the exposed wall plate and brick stacks in the second and third bays. The rear elevation has been altered.
