Description

Two houses forming a row, dating to the 17th century and the mid-19th century. They are built with stucco over sarsen stone foundations, and have tiled roofs. A brick wing is present on the right, with a side entrance opposite Bell Court. Each house is two stories tall and has three bays. There is a carriage entrance to the left of No. 23. The windows are mostly six-pane sashes, with four-pane sashes on the return to the right. The front doors are within 20th-century gabled porches, and are six-panel doors. The roof is half-hipped on the left and fully hipped on the right. There are two chimneys, one positioned opposite the entrance to No. 24. The buildings are listed for their group value, contributing to the pleasing appearance of The Green. They were formerly The George public house.
