Description
The Blue Boar Public House is a building that originally served as a house, dating from the 17th century and early to mid-19th century. It is constructed from whitewashed sarsen and chalkstone, topped with a tiled roof. The structure is two stories high and features four narrow bays, with the left bay housing a prominent chimney stack. Originally, the building had a central stair hall, which has since been removed. The front includes a 20th-century pair of doors and a canopy, while the ground floor showcases 4-pane sash windows with segmental heads. The eaves are cogged, and there are gable stacks. Inside, notable features include a chamfered spine beam with ogee stops and a large fireplace with stone jambs and a chamfered timber firebeam. There is also a blocked 17th-century window nearby.
