Description
No. 15 The Green is an early 19th-century house located on the north side of The Green in Aldbourne. The building is constructed of roughcast brick and features a tiled roof. It is two stories high and originally consists of two bays, with an extension to the left made of colourwashed brickwork and a two-stage rear extension added in part in 1902. The entrance is centrally located within the original two bays and includes a panelled door and a simple pitched timber porch. The ground floor has six-pane sash windows, while the upper floor has sixteen-pane sash windows. The eaves are adorned with brick dentils, and there are stacks at the gables of the original two-bay structure. To the right of the house is a garage, built in 1864, which was formerly a fire station, but this is not included in the listing. The cottage is situated in a prominent location within Aldbourne.
