Description
Vine Cottage is a house built in the late 18th century to early 19th century. It features diaper brickwork with a sarsen stone side wall and a slated roof. The building is two stories tall, with three bays at the front and a one-bay extension at the rear left. Inside, there is a central stair hall and the layout includes two rooms deep. The central entrance has a six-panelled door set within an elaborate doorcase that includes Corinthian pilasters, a pulvinated frieze, and a dentilled cornice, which appears to have been cut down and reset in its current position. The windows are 16-pane sashes with partially concealed boxes and painted reveals, all topped with gauged brick flat arches. The interior features a reeded fire surround in the front rooms.
