Pembroke Cottage With Attached Boundary Wall

Pembroke Cottage is a detached cottage dating from around 1700, located on the south side of Warminster Road in Serrington. It is constructed of rendered rubble stone and features a thatched roof with gable end brick stacks. The cottage is single storey with an attic and has a three-windowed façade, although the entrance front is now at the rear. The front includes a 20th-century glazed door and a two-light casement window to the left, with a one-light and a two-light casement to the right. The eaves were raised and boarded in the 19th century, and there is a row of small two-light casements. The north front, which faces the road, has a fixed window in a blocked doorway and a four-light casement to the right, along with attic windows featuring two-light and three-light casements.

Attached to the west side is a rendered extension that includes a four-panelled door and a double Roman tiled roof. To the north, there is a well-preserved length of cob wall with thatched capping, measuring about 10 meters long. Inside, the cottage features an open fireplace with a chamfered lintel set on stone jambs, and a chamfered beam with ogee stops.
