Description

This is a detached cottage dating to around 1840. It is built of Flemish bond brick, with a concrete tiled roof and brick stacks at the gable ends. The cottage is two storeys high with a two-window front. The central doorway has six fielded panels and a flat stone hood supported by brackets. There are sixteen-pane sash windows either side of the door. A stone plat band runs across the first floor, above which are two sash windows. The left and right returns are constructed of rubble stone. A two-storey rear range was added in the late 19th century, featuring segmental-headed casement windows. The building is a good example of a 19th-century cottage built in the style of the 18th century.
