Description
Blakeman Cottage is a detached cottage dating from the 17th century. It features square-panelled timber-framing with brick nogging, including some herringbone panels, and has a thatched roof with a half-hip to the right and a brick stack to the left. The cottage is two bays wide, single-storey with an attic, and has one window. There is a planked door located to the right of centre, a single-light casement to the right, and a 2-light casement to the left. The full gabled attic dormer includes a 3-light casement. The right return is made of brick and has a 2-light casement on the ground floor and two 2-light casements on the first floor. The left return is constructed of rubble stone and features 2-light attic casements. There is a 20th-century addition at the rear, which includes a 2-light attic casement in a raking dormer. The interior was not accessible at the time of the survey in December 1986.
