Description
Mill Cottage, also known as Lake Mill, is a cottage linked to a former watermill, built in the 18th century and significantly altered in the early 20th century and again in 1979. The cottage features rendered and colourwashed brickwork with a thatched roof. It is two storeys high and has three bays, with a lean-to extension on the right that now serves as the kitchen. An off-centre porch includes a boarded door and a thatched roof. To the right of the entrance is a small paned early 19th-century metal window, while the other windows have been replaced with metal in the 20th century. A mid-wall band is moulded and displays a frieze of strapwork alternating with raised diamonds. There is a gable stack on the left and a stack at the rear.
