Description
26 and 28 Bedwin Street are an early 19th century pair of houses. They are three storeys tall and constructed of red brick, featuring a low pitch gable end slate roof with projecting flat eaves. Each house has one window on every floor, with No 28 having a new tripartite sash window on the second floor. The windows are recessed sashes, and most of the glazing bars remain intact. No 28 also features a large canted bay window on the first floor, which has a moulded cornice and a panelled apron. The doors are recessed, with No 28's door being modernised and No 26's door consisting of six panels. Both doors have reeded surrounds with corner blocks and small flat hoods. Some bricks on the front display the brickmaker's name: "Harding." These houses are part of a group that includes Frowd's Almshouses, Nos 26 to 34 (even), and Taylor's Almshouses.
