Description
31 Bedwin Street is a mid to late 18th-century house that completes the view down Rollestone Street. It has two storeys and an attic, constructed of rendered brick and raised on a plinth. The house features a moulded boxed eaves cornice with pairs of brackets spaced along it. The roof is steeply pitched and covered with old tiles, with a half-hip on the left side. There are two dormers with altered glazing, framed with moulded edges.
On the first floor, there is a recessed sash window on the left and a canted bay window with three sash lights on the right. The eaves cornice continues around the building, and there is a flush panelled apron below. The ground floor has a central entrance flanked by two windows. All the windows are recessed sashes, but the glazing bars have been removed. The entrance door, altered around 1840, has four panels, panelled reveals, and a heavy reeded architrave surround, topped with a flat moulded cornice hood.
The Royal George Public House and Nos 23 to 45 (odd) form a group with this building.
