Description
Upper Farmhouse is a farmhouse built in the late 18th century or early 19th century. It is constructed of red brick with ashlar dressings and features a slate mansard roof, coped gables, and end stacks. The building has two storeys and an attic, with a three-window range of 12-pane sashes, arranged in pairs on each side and a single window above the door. Notable architectural details include ashlar flush quoins, a band, flush window surrounds, and a moulded doorcase with a fluted frieze and a pediment supported by brackets. The entrance has a six-panel door. Attached to the east end are outbuildings with stone slate roofs. There is an attic window at the west end, a rear lean-to, and three dormers. In the 19th century, it was known as Pill Farm.
