Description

The J. Neate monument, located east of the south-east angle of the chancel of the Church of St James, is a Grade II listed chest tomb from the late 18th century. It is constructed of ashlar and features two fielded plaques on each side, along with husk drop angle piers and a recessed fluted centre pier. The monument is topped with a moulded cornice that includes a fluted frieze. The inscription commemorates Jane Neate, who died in 1792.
