Description

No. 53 High Street is a house that has been converted into a shop, dating from the mid-18th century. It is constructed of limestone rubble and features gable brick stacks and a stone slate roof. The building is two storeys high and has a three-window range. The front is regular, with rough quoins, and includes a mid-20th century shop front with plate-glass windows, a central carriageway entrance, and a fascia. Above this, there are 2/2-pane horned sash windows on the first floor, which have timber lintels and rough jambs. The interior has not been inspected, but it is reported to have chamfered oak ceiling beams with cavetto stops.
