Description
This is a three-gable house, originally dating to 1671. It is now a surgery. Later alterations occurred in the 18th century and around 1890, with rear extensions added at that time. The windows were restored in the late 19th century, and the rear of the building was rebuilt behind the original facade in the 1980s. The exterior is constructed of roughly coursed limestone rubble with limestone dressings. It features an end gable ashlar stack and a cross-gabled stone slate roof.
The symmetrical front elevation has three equal gables with quoins and roll top coping. It contains mullion windows with chamfered surrounds and label moulds, now fitted with 20th-century leaded casements. Original blocked two-light attic windows retain cavetto mouldings. A date shield inscribed “MAY THE 1/1671” sits above the central window. A widened 20th-century central opening provides access with half-glazed doors. The exposed footings of the right-hand gable return are visible at the base. A projecting rear one-window range is present, with a blocked opening in the re-entrant space, featuring a timber lintel and cornice.
The interior was completely rebuilt.
