Description
The Churchyard Cross in Great Bedwyn, dating from the 14th century, is made of limestone and features a three-stepped plinth. It has a square base that transitions to an octagonal shaft. The capital supports a facetted finial that serves as a sundial, which dates from the 18th century. The cross itself is intricately carved in low relief, depicting a bishop standing on a cushion within a crocketed niche. There is a hole located below the cross. This structure is also scheduled as an ancient monument in Wiltshire, numbered 592.
