Description
Nos 230 and 232 on High Street are two estate cottages built in 1846. They are constructed from yellow brick, featuring red brick flush quoining, a band, window heads, and quoins. The cottages have a slate roof and are two storeys tall with three bays. The central door has been blocked and replaced with a door at the rear, while the door to No 232 is located at the side. The windows are metal diamond lattice, although the central first-floor window is blind. There are external gable stacks that embrace the windows at attic level and rise as two heavy flues linked at the caps. Each gable displays a lozenge datestone reading "DG 1846." The eaves are very wide, and there are 20th-century extensions to the rear.
