Description
This is a house located on Castle Street in Calne, dating from the early or mid 18th century, with a re-roofing in the mid 19th century. It is constructed of rendered limestone rubble, with an ashlar gable stack on the right-hand side and a slate roof. The house follows a single-depth plan and has two storeys and a two-window front. A stone cope runs along the right-hand gable. The left-hand side has a 20th-century door and a timber lintel above a 3-light 20th-century casement window, with a smaller window to the right. The first floor features 2-light and 3-light stone-mullioned windows. Two late 19th-century gabled dormers, featuring decorative bargeboards and 2x4-pane casement windows, are visible in the roof. The interior has not been inspected.
