Description
No. 5 Patford Street is a house that has been converted into offices. It dates from the early to mid-18th century and is built of limestone rubble with dressings, previously rendered, featuring a brick gable stack and a pantile roof. The building has a single-depth plan, stands three storeys tall with a cellar, and has a three-window range. Notable exterior features include a ground-floor drip mould with a frieze, cornice, and blocking course, as well as quoins. The left-hand doorway has a late 20th-century door, and there are keyed lintels above horned 2/2-pane sash windows, with smaller windows on the second floor. Inside, the property features a central axial dogleg stair with turned balusters, square newels, and a moulded rail. Additional interior details include boarded stud panelling, chamfered beams, a four-hinge door, and an oak winder stair leading to the attic, which has a 18th-century collar-truss roof.
