Description

Barnes Green Farmhouse is a circa early 19th-century farmhouse constructed of rendered brick, with a stone tile roof and brick gable end stacks. The building is L-shaped, comprising two principal rooms on the front range, a central entrance/stair hall, and a wing to the right. Later 19th-century additions are present at the rear.

The north front is symmetrical with three bays and features 16-pane sashes, with a 12-pane sash on the centre of the first floor. The central doorway has a circa late 19th-century wooden porch. A canted bay with a 12-pane sash window is on the west side of the building. The rear has a gable-ended wing on the left with a later 19th-century brick extension and a circa late 19th-century brick wing on the right, both with gable ends.

The interior retains much of the original early 19th-century joinery, including panelled doors, window shutters, cupboard doors, and a staircase with stick balusters and a moulded handrail that is ramped to column newels.
