Description
Old Farmhouse is a former farmhouse that has been converted into a detached house. It has a core that dates back to the 17th century, with 19th-century additions and a 20th-century restoration. The building is constructed from limewashed brick, with some timber framing visible at the rear of the core cottage. It features wooden lintels and a gabled thatched roof, which has a brick stack at the ridge.
The house is single-storey with an attic and has a four-window south front. The core cottage is positioned off-centre to the right, while the 19th-century additions are located at both the left and right ends. The windows are small-pane casements from the 19th century, with two and three lights. There are also two eyebrow dormers; the one on the left was refenestrated during a survey in July 1986, along with rethatching done in Devon reed. To the right of the house, there is a plank door set beneath thatched eaves, which project to create a porch supported by wooden posts.
