Description

Pound House is an early 19th-century house constructed of red brick with ashlar dressings, topped by a slate roof featuring stone slates at the eaves. It has coped gables and end stacks. The two-storey structure presents a three-window front. Architectural details include ashlar flush quoins, a raised band, a beaded surround to the central six-panel door, which has a hood on brackets and keystones, and sills to the twelve-pane sash windows. Brick dentilled eaves are also present. The openings have cambered heads. A west-side addition with a stone slate roof, half-hipped at the west end, is attached. A parallel rear range features an ironstone rubble rear wall. The building is of group value, contributing to the character of the area.
