Description
The Greyhound Inn is a mid-19th century inn built from squared ironstone rubble with ashlar dressings. It features a slate half-hipped roof and paired diagonal stacks, with one pair on the ridge and another on the rear wall. The building is two storeys high and designed in a Tudor style, characterized by hoodmoulds over the windows.
The front has a four-window range, with a symmetrical three-window section on the left. This section includes a central first-floor casement flanked by pairs of outer casements, while the ground floor features canted bays on either side of a central door, which has a slate hipped roof extending from the bays above. To the right, there are ground floor three-light and first floor two-light stone mullion windows, all with original iron small-paned casements. The west end wall has casements on both floors, also with hoodmoulds. At the rear, there is a long range running north, primarily constructed of rubble stone facing the road and red brick on the east side.
