Description

No 27 High Street is a 17th-century house that features a timber frame partly covered in painted brick, with a late 18th-century or early 19th-century rear wing made of painted rubble stone. The building has Bridgwater tile roofs and is designed in an L-shape with one and a half storeys. The original section of the house, which faces the road, has a gable end with a rubble stone wall and an end stack. The north side displays exposed timber framing with tension braces, and includes one eaves dormer with a pair of casement windows, as well as a pair of casement windows below. There is a 20th-century porch at the angle of the rear range. The south side is finished in painted brick and features a similar dormer and casement windows, along with a porch on the left. The rear wing is taller, featuring a hipped roof and cambered head casements in the north end wall.
