ST9273SW MARKET PLACE 930-1/10/93 (West side) 25/04/50 No.11 Wiltshire County Council Offices, County and Magistrates' Court

GV II

House, now municipal offices. Mid C18. Coursed limestone rubble, ashlar quoins, parapet and dressings, stone slate roof hipped to the left. 3-unit plan. EXTERIOR: 2 storeys; 7-window range. Raised quoins and architraves imply that the 1st floor may formerly have been rendered. Cyma-moulded architraves to 6/6-pane sash windows to the 1st floor, plate-glass sashes to the ground floor. Ashlar eaves band, cornice and parapet to front and one-window left return on Timber Street where the architrave to the ground-floor window has a cornice. Narrow ashlar ground-floor lintel band and worn chamfered capping to a rubblestone plinth to the front. Tuscan doorcase to right of centre with engaged columns supporting entablature and pediment. Step up to a C19 4-panel door glazed to the top. INTERIOR: altered.
