Description
No. 6 Park Lane is a former County Court Office built in the mid-19th century. The building features a front made of limestone ashlar and coursed squared limestone on the sides, topped with a hipped Welsh slate roof that has a parapet at the front and no visible chimney stack. It is two stories high and has a three-window range.
On the first floor, there are three 19th-century plate glass sash windows set in moulded eared architraves, each with a recessed moulded panel beneath. The ground floor also has three 19th-century plate glass sash windows, but these are in round-headed openings with keystones and similar recessed panels below. The building has a plinth with a moulded top, banded rustication on the ground floor, and a moulded band course above it. The corners of the first floor are accentuated with rusticated quoins.
The facade is further enhanced by a frieze, a moulded stone eaves cornice, and a blocking course. To the left and right of the main facade, there are single-storey screens, each featuring a door with six flush panels and a single-pane round-headed overlight in a plain reveal with a keystone. These are flanked by Doric pilasters, which support a frieze, a moulded stone cornice, and a blocking course. The interior has not been inspected.
