Description
No. 12A on East Street is a house dating from the late medieval period, with some alterations made in the early 19th century. The building features a timber-framed cross wing on the right side and a range of coursed rubble stone on the left. It has a stone slate roof, with a chimney gable on the north side of the cross wing. The left range includes a dormer gable that has a 3-light cyma-moulded recessed mullion window, along with a hood mould over a renewed similar window and door. There is also a rear stack. The cross wing is timber-framed above a rubble stone base, with a jettied upper section supported by curved brackets that frame a triple casement on the ground floor. The upper floor showcases curved tension braces and a 4-light timber-mullion window. A foot of a cruck truss can be seen between the door and the cross wing. The interior has not been inspected.
