Description
Nos 20 and 24 on South Street are two-storey buildings from the early to mid-18th century that have been modernised. They feature a rendered exterior on a projecting plinth, a platband, and a brick modillion cornice. The roof is tiled and half-hipped to the left, with chimneys that are screened. On the first floor, there are two 2-light leaded casements and two later 3-light casements. The ground floor has five late glazed sash windows. There is a plain wide rectangular through-passage entrance located to the left of centre, and the party walls are timber-framed, with entrances in the passage that likely indicate an older house plan. The rear wall is made of random rubble with flint and includes brick lacing courses, which may date from the mid-19th century.
