Description
The Mitchell Monument is an early 19th-century chest tomb located in the churchyard, about 1 metre west of the Goodyer Monument and south-south-east of the Church of St. Thomas. It is constructed of ashlar and features a slab top and sides. The sides of the tomb have two plaques, fluted angle strips, and a reeded centre strip. The top slab is inscribed with the name W. Mitchell, who died in 1812.
