Description
Spring Grove is a house dating from the mid-18th century, constructed of squared rubble stone with a stone-tiled roof and coped gables. It features south end wall stacks and a ridge stack to a rear range. The house is two storeys and has an attic.
The west front has two hipped dormers and a three-window range of bead-moulded flush mullion windows. There are flush quoins and a raised floor band. The upper windows consist of two 2-light and one 3-light windows; the lower windows are two 3-light windows. A central 6-panel door is set within a raised bead-moulded surround with a hood on brackets.
A rear range, partially constructed of late 18th century ashlar and rendered surfaces, has two hipped dormers to a mansard roof, a first-floor French window with 16 panes, and a ground-floor 12-pane sash window. A plank door and an 8-pane sash window are also present.
The interior of the front range showcases fielded 6-panel doors, a closed string staircase with column balusters, moulded cornices to the left side room, and moulded stone fireplaces.
