Description

The Gennings Monument is a chest tomb located in the churchyard about 1.5 metres west of the north-west corner of the tower of the Church of St. Mary the Virgin. It dates from the third quarter of the 18th century and is made of limestone. The tomb features a plinth and has two panels with moulded edges on each of the main sides, as well as one panel on the ends. It is adorned with reeded corner pilasters and a central reeded pilaster between the panels. The top is moulded and flat. The monument commemorates Robert Gennings, who died in 1762.
