Description
The Gale Monument is a chest tomb located in the churchyard, approximately 7 metres north of the north aisle of the Church of All Saints. It dates from the early 19th century and is made of limestone. The tomb features a moulded table and base, with end doubled pilasters and raised panels that are fluted at the top. A draped urn is positioned between the pilasters. The monument commemorates Thomas Gale, who died in 1832, William Gale of Durley, who died in 1837, George Gale, who died in 1833, and Elizabeth, the wife of Joseph Gale, who also died in 1837.
