Description
The Gale Monument, located approximately 23.5 metres south of St Mary's Church, is an early 19th-century structure made of ashlar stone. It is set within a square enclosure that features a low wall, although the railings and gate are missing. The monument consists of a square plinth supporting a square sarcophagus topped with an urn finial. Oval panels on the monument commemorate members of the Gale family, with dates of death ranging from 1816 to 1903.
