Description
This is a mid-17th century town house, with later alterations. It is constructed of roughcast stone and has a slate roof. The house is two storeys high and consists of four bays, with the first bay projecting forward under a gable. A cornice runs along the top of the other bays. The windows to the first three bays are set within plaster surrounds. On the ground floor, the first bay has a small-paned French window, alongside a two-light window in the re-entrant wall. The second and third bays have windows with paired sashes and glazing bars. The fourth bay contains a four-light, single-chamfered-mullioned window. The first floor windows are cross-casements in the first three bays, with a three-light window in the fourth bay. The entrance, located between the third and fourth bays, features an embattled lintel inscribed with the date "G/1638," a six-panelled door, a two-glazed-panel lattice porch with a cornice and a lion’s head detail. A rainwater head is dated "W & AA/1761.” There is a gable-end stack to the first bay, a cross-axial stack with paired rounded shafts, and a gable-end stack with a roughly octagonal shaft.
