Description
This is a cattle shelter or herdsman's hut located in a field to the north of the village, built in the mid-19th century for the Huddleston family. It is one of a group of buildings constructed as follies. The structure is made of drystone with thick, battered walls and features a stone vault, which was partly collapsed at the time of the survey in 1986. The ends of the building are semicircular in shape, each with a low, semicircular-headed entrance. Additionally, there is a small circular hole in the center of the vault, possibly for a stovepipe.
