Description

The Tayler monument is a chest tomb located about 1 meter south of the south aisle of the Church of St Nicholas in Bromham. It dates from around 1800 and is made of ashlar stone. The tomb features two fielded plaques on each side, framed in an egg-and-dart moulding. The south side has an ornate floral drop at the center, while the north side displays simpler paired husk drops with rosette centers. Fluted quarter-columns are positioned at the corners, and the tomb has a moulded base and a cornice with a fluted frieze that projects forward over the plaques. The inscription commemorates Mary Tayler, who died in 1806.
