Description
Two attached barns of Bourton Farm, located to the south of Maddington Manor, date from the early 18th century. They are constructed with weatherboarding on a timber frame, set on a brick plinth, and feature a Welsh slate half-hipped roof. The barns are arranged in an L-plan, with seven bays in each barn and south and west aisles. The south and west sides have double wooden sliding doors, while the east side has double hinged doors, and there are no doors on the north side. The roof trusses in both barns include tie-beams with curved bracing to the main posts, queen struts to the collar, two tiers of butt purlins, and wind bracing to the upper tier.
