Description
Edith Cottage and Apshill Cottage are a pair of cottages built in the 18th century, located on the east side of Forest Road in Wootton Rivers. The cottages are constructed from colourwashed stone and brick, topped with a thatched roof.
Edith Cottage, on the left, has two bays and features a lean-to at the end. Apshill Cottage, on the right, consists of three bays with a boarded door on the left and 19th-century timber casement windows. The lower storey of Apshill Cottage is made of stone and has a datestone from 1717 in brick above a plain band. There are 20th-century extensions at the rear of both cottages. The roof is hipped and includes two brick stacks. Inside, there are timber framed rear walls, cross partitions, and spine beams.
