Description
Upper Farmhouse is an 18th-century farmhouse, extended in the early 19th century. It is constructed of brick and has a thatched roof. The original part of the farmhouse comprises two storeys and three bays, with a further bay added to the left. A glazed door is centrally positioned within the three-bay front, and is set within a doorcase with a reeded fascia. The ground floor windows are eighteen-paned sashes, while the first-floor windows are twelve-paned sashes, all with panes that are longer horizontally. The window and door openings are topped with cambered brick arches. A canted bay window with a reeded and dentilled fascia and a swept lead roof has been added to the left-hand side. Brick stacks are located at the junction with the extension and at the rear of the extension. A flat-roofed, two-storey extension has been added to the rear of the building, and a 19th-century outbuilding, complete with a gable stack, is now attached to the right end, at the rear.
