Description
Forge Cottage is a house that was originally built as cottages in the late 17th to early 18th century, with some early 19th-century additions. The structure is timber-framed with brick noggings and features a thatched roof. It stands two storeys tall. The right end consists of seven bays of timber framing set on a brick sill, with thin horizontal members creating four panels in height. The left block, dating from the early 19th century, has four bays and includes a boarded door situated beneath a thatched canopy. The windows are paned casements set in segmental headed openings, and there is a flush vitrified stretcher course above. A stack is located opposite the door and on the left gable. Additionally, there is an early 20th-century lean-to on the right side, which has a rear thatched wing.
