Description
Saw Mill Cottage is a house dated 1720, constructed of squared rubble stone with a stone tiled roof, featuring coped gables and brick stacks at the ends. The building is two stories high and has a three-window range. There are drip courses above the windows on both floors. The windows are bead-moulded flush mullion types with small pane lights and sash opening lights. On the first floor, there are three 2-light windows, while the ground floor has two 3-light windows. The central entrance has a bead-moulded doorcase topped with a fine curved stone hood supported by brackets. Above the door, the initials "T P R" and the date "1720" are carved. On the north end wall, there is a bead-moulded attic light with a dripmould, as well as a 2-light ovolo moulded window with a hoodmould at the landing level.
