Description
The Old Forge is a pair of cottages with a converted forge attached, now functioning as a house, dating from the mid-18th century. The building is constructed of rubble stone and features stone tiled roofs with a stack at the east end. It is two storeys high, with two windows on the upper floor. The windows are cyma-moulded mullion windows, and on the ground floor, there is a three-light cyma-moulded flush mullion window with a hoodmould, located to the right of two moulded stone flush doorways, one of which is concealed by a 20th-century stone porch. The windows have small panes.
To the east, there is an attached one-storey and attic stone tiled range with a coped east gable. This section includes ovolo-moulded stone-mullion windows with hoods under relieving arches, featuring one three-light window on the north front and a 20th-century four-light window on the ground floor and attic of the east end. The rear wing has a roof covered with Bridgwater tiles.
