Description

Quoin Cottage is a house with a core dating from the early 18th century, altered in the early to mid-19th century. It is constructed of rubble stone, originally stuccoed, and has a medium-pitch slate roof with a coped south end gable and an end wall stack. The east front has two floors and a two-window arrangement. The upper floor windows are stone mullioned, one with a cyma-moulded head and the other plain. A moulded doorcase features a hood supported by brackets, and a 3-light chamfered mullion window is located to the right. The south end gable displays squared quoins and 19th-century windows within plain surrounds, two to the ground floor with original margin light sashes, and one above with 20th-century glazing. A six-panel central door is also covered by a hood on brackets.

Internally, a large early 18th-century oak lintel fireplace is present at the north end. The first floor has fielded panelled doors, including one six-panel door and two two-panel doors.
