Description

STOCKTON HIGH STREET ST 93 NE (off south side) 7/126 Two unidentified monuments in the churchyard between 2 and 6m north of chancel of Church of St John the Baptist GV II Two chest tombs. Early C18 and late C18. Limestone. South of pair is probably early C18; Fine carved tomb with moulded plinth, high relief carved drapery and skull and cross bones on main sides, within egg and dart moulded panel, skulls to end panels, moulded cornice to flat top; no legible inscription. Late C18 tomb to north has moulded plinth two fielded panels to main sides, moulded flat top with illegible inscription.
