Description

Two unidentified monuments are located in the churchyard about 6 meters north of the chancel of the Church of the Holy Cross. These are two similar chest tombs from the early 18th century, made of ashlar stone. Each tomb features sunk fielded panels on each side, with fluted centers and angles, as well as a moulded base and cornice. The west end panels display armorial designs, although the panel on the north monument is set upside down. Both monuments have an east end decoration of a skull, spear, and bones trophy. The north monument includes a pulvinated frieze, while the south monument has an inscription dedicated to John D----.
