Description

The Shalbourne War Memorial is situated in the churchyard of St Michael and All Angels Church. It features a wheel-head cross on top of a tapered shaft with a carved collar, which is set on an octagonal plinth. This plinth rests on an octagonal base with four steps.

The inscription on the plinth states: "THIS MONUMENT IS ERECTED TO THE HONOURED MEMORY OF THE MEN OF THIS PARISH WHO GAVE THEIR LIVES IN THE GREAT WAR 1914 – 1918 (NAMES)." An additional inscription for the years 1939 – 1945 (NAMES) has been included.
